Want more opportunities to practice your English? Luckily, they are all around you!
Today, your task is to ask someone for directions–even if you know where you are going. If you practice asking strangers for help, you will not be nervous when you have to ask for help for real.
For example:
YOU: Excuse me, do you know if there is a pharmacy around here?
PERSON: I think there is a Walgreens at Quimby and White.
YOU: I’m not sure where that is. Can you give me directions?
PERSON: Sure, go out this way and turn right at the light. Turn left on Quimby, about half a mile away. You will see it.
YOU: Thank you for your help!
