Conversation practice: Talk to a bank teller

Do you need cash? Don’t use the ATM!

Go inside the bank and get help from a teller (the person at the counter). You can have conversations with bank tellers in English!

Bank tellers are very friendly. They like to talk about your family, your job, and your life.

Walk up to the teller and introduce yourself. Here are some phrases to try:

I’d like to check my bank balance.
I’d like to withdraw some money.
I’d like to cash a check, please.
I want to make a deposit, please.

The bank teller might speak to you in your home language, but if they do, say, “I’m practicing my English.”
