At the Museum – Level 3

A museum takes care of important objects. These objects can be historical, cultural, artistic, or scientific. These objects are then displayed for the public, sometimes for free or sometimes for a small fee. Some museums interpret their displays for the viewer. Art museums often do this to help the public understand the works more deeply. Other museums show cultures such as crafts made by different cultures.

Museums that are scientific focus mainly on educating the public, such as the Smithsonian Museum. They display objects as well as explain or show their function to the public. The most visited Museum in the world is the Louvre in Paris. It holds one of the most famous painting in the world the Mona Lisa.
